My view of leadership is: ‘Leaders are those people who take responsibility for their world’. It has nothing to do with your title or the hierarchy. You have an opportunity to stand in a place of leadership in every interaction that you have. Leaders know their powerful essence and they are willing to act on it. Leaders take responsibility for themselves, how people see them and what experience they are creating.
Leaders inspire the people around them to recognize and express their own strengths and powerful self. They have the ability to inspire, engage, respond, and co-create experiences. Leaders are not afraid to ask for help. They are willing to ask for 100% of what they want, 100% of the time and they stay available to negotiate the difference.
There is the ‘being’ or essence of the leader – their life purpose is like a river pulling us forward and there is the ‘doing’ of the leader – how things need to come about – through quests and projects. My life purpose is: “To inspire others to honour their authentic self”. My doing comes in the form of my life coaching, boot camps, workshops, parenting, mentoring and how I am as a mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend.
